In 2013, Mokolo Jewelry Co started as Studio 15 Jewelry. A passion project between three high school friends, that little store started on Etsy. Six years later, Studio 15 Jewelry has moved on to Mokolo Jewelry Co and is run by just one of those friends and a few helpers.
In Mokolo, owner Miranda combines some of her interests. She’s able to create pieces and use her extensive knowledge of (and obsession with) gemstones to source some of the most beautiful gems you’ll see. Her photography skills have come in handy with product photography and she’s able to shoot lookbooks and portraits for the store. She has learned tips and tricks of the jewelry and gemstone businesses while working online and on the ground, and this experience has all been poured into her newest venture, Mokolo Jewelry Co.
The idea behind Mokolo Jewelry Co was to create a jewelry line that was easy to wear, beautiful, and sophisticated. Miranda’s goal is to design pieces that will be your new go-to. Mokolo’s staple pieces can be worn with anything you have in your closet, and they are easy-to-love pieces you will wear every day. If you need a little inspiration, take a look here, or you can even message us, and we’d love to help you put together some looks.
The name Mokolo comes from a marché in Yaoundé, Cameroon, where Miranda lived for a time. The market is full of women selling everything from colorful pagne to amazing food.
Miranda has been inspired by amazing women entrepreneurs, and the strong women in her life to follow her dreams and open this little store.
